What exactly does my friend get?
Your friend receives a full enrollment welcome package: their first month at the standard rate, a complimentary knife-skills starter kit (a 7-inch Victorinox chef's knife, a honing rod, and a cutting board), and priority placement in the cohort of their choice. They're never handed a coupon — they arrive as a valued guest, not a discount redemption.
Does my friend need to enroll in a specific program for my referral to count?
Any enrollment qualifies — from our 6-week Foundations of French Technique to the 12-month Professional Culinary Certificate. Weekend intensives, pastry modules, and the new Fermentation & Preservation series all count. The only requirement is a paid enrollment, not a trial session.
Can I refer someone who already took a trial class?
Yes — trial class participants are eligible as long as they haven't completed a paid enrollment previously. If your friend attended a free tasting demo or an open house, your referral is fully valid when they convert to a paid program. The 30-day window after a trial is actually when referrals convert fastest.

When does my credit hit my account?
Credit is applied within 48 hours of your friend completing their first paid session — not at enrollment, but after they've actually shown up and cooked. This keeps the program honest and ensures the credit you earn reflects a real experience delivered. You'll receive an email confirmation with the exact credit amount and your updated balance.
What if I refer someone who was already thinking about enrolling?
If your friend hasn't enrolled yet, your referral counts — full stop. We track referrals from the moment the invite link is used or the form is submitted. As long as your friend uses your personalized invite before completing their enrollment, you receive full credit. There's no "they were already going to do it" clause here.
Can I use my referral credit toward the Professional Certificate program?
Yes. Referral credits apply to any paid program: weekend intensives, the 6-week modules, the 12-month Professional Culinary Certificate, and specialty workshops including our new Fermentation & Preservation and Whole Animal Butchery series. Credits can also be stacked — if you've earned $225 in credit and a program costs $300, you pay the $75 difference.
Is there a limit to how many people I can refer?
No ceiling. We've had alumni refer entire restaurant teams. The tier rewards unlock at 1, 3, and 5+ referrals, but the program continues beyond that — every referral beyond 5 adds $75 to your credit balance. The record is 14 referrals from a single alumni who runs a catering company. Her knife collection is significant.
